Kubuntu 24.04 has been giving me problems on this old-ish Lenovo G50-45, so I'm trying Linux Mint Cinnamon to see if that runs better.

Shout out to rsync. Copying 240 gigabytes from one server to another over SSH.

Terra Venture running Ubuntu Server 24.04 hosting Nextcloud and several WordPress sites. 128 gigabyte M.2 SSD system drive, 2 terabyte SSD storage drive. Onyx running Ubuntu Server 24.04 with Samba for network access. 1 terabyte HDD system/storage drive.

KO-35 running Ubuntu Server 24.04 with Samba for network file access. 128 gigabyte M.2 SSD system drive. One 10 terabyte HDD for main storage and one 500 gigabyte SSD for working on files over network. Nightly backup from SSD to HDD via rsync shell script.

Work in progress. Venjix running Ubuntu Server 24.04 with Samba for network file access. Weekly backup of KO-35 and Terra Venture via rsync. 180 gigabyte SATA SSD system drive. (Currently) Three 500 gigabyte SATA HDD storage drives.

Dual boot Windows 11 and Kubuntu 24.04. Windows (on a 512 gigabyte M.2 SSD) running Studio One, Capture One, and Affinity Suite. Kubuntu (on a 128 gigabyte M.2 SSD) just stock Kubuntu.

Onyx (Lenovo M72e): Personal NAS

KO-35 (OptiPlex 7040 SFF): Photography NAS

Venjix (HP Compaq DC5750): Terra Venture & KO-35 Backup NAS

Studio/Office Computer (OptiPlex 7080 SFF): Windows 11 and Kubuntu

I think I'm going to try my hand at installing Arch Linux, the "REAL" way, on the Compaq DC5750. I don't know if I'll ever do anything with the system, but I've been wanting to try my hand at installing Arch, and I think that's the best bet. Then I'll turn it into mass storage. #ProjectAlphabetSoup

I'm partial to the graphite. But I also have a thing for everything being black or as close as possible to it.

I put a second M.2 SSD into my studio/office OptiPlex 7080 and installed Kubuntu 24.04.1 on it so that I can run Windows for photo editing and music production and Linux for office related tasks from one machine and no longer have to bring my laptop top into the office.
