Had a delightful talk with a young boy who had arrived at the park on the back of a cargo bike with his dad. We both heartily agreed that cars are what destroyed the built environment and getting to the park on a bike was far superior to arriving by car. #carlessbychoice

I figure it’s a very personal story about our love for a city that’s so easy for us to get around in sans car. Morning rush hour of bike commuters across the Steel Bridge is a sight to see. Whenever a car stops for us in the crosswalk at 1st at MLK path I say to the spouse “must be from Portland”

I am going to send a comment. PDX is my favorite vacay city and we chose it the 1st time in 2009 over Seattle (endpoints of Empire Builder) because the tourist website focused on transit and non car transport. Was just looking at condos to buy there not far from these intersections! Yikes!
