Every time you see that the government is trying to raise our military spending to 5% of GDP, think about the fact that our total elementary and secondary school spending is 3.9% of GDP.

This is the part where I'd probably start panicking, because "only 55% of the 49.8% that got me here less than a year ago buy into my whole Schtick" is ~27.5% overall and that's REAL close to the Crank Floor...which you might just break THROUGH at this rate, and then Hell's the limit!

Big and small, I've had single-person businesses rip me to shreds over how their colors turned out on newsprint, and have worked with huge companies with THICK brand guidelines with every detail of their brand identity laid out and enforced with an iron fist. But I guess all of that stuff doesn't matter anymore? Who gives a fuck if this Al generated baby has six fingers, that mom-and-pop shop is still going to use it. That rug from Temu says Happy Thanksgivirg? Oh well haha it's just a silly funny thing now (nevermind that you never would have given a B-grade item from a craft show the same consideration). I don't actually care that the Al Coca-cola ad has a truck that changes size every scene, but I can't help but think about how, if it had been some poor underpaid artist, they would have been laughed out of the building. I don't really know how to put it in a succint way but it just feels all the more obvious how much more grace and flexibility has always been possible but never offered.
i know WHY this is but that just makes it even more of a kick in the pants lmao

27.11.2025 06:05 β π 59 π 18 π¬ 1 π 0From Empire of AI by Karen Hao "Sutskever now spoke in increasingly messianic overtones, leaving even his longtime friends scratching their heads and other employees ap-prehensive. During one meeting with a new group of researchers, Suts-kever laid out his plans for how to prepare for AGI. "Once we all get into the bunker-" he began. "I'm sorry," a researcher interrupted, "the bunker?" "We're definitely going to build a bunker before we release AGI," Suts-kever replied matter-of-factly. Such a powerful technology would surely become an object of intense desire for governments globally. It could es-calate geopolitical tensions; the core scientists working on the technol-ogy would need to be protected. "Of course," he added, "it's going to be optional whether you want to get into the bunker."
Just a reminder that the people who run AI companies talk like this when amongst themselves and when you ask me if I'm anti-AI, well, I'm anti whatever the fuck this is

By that logic, the Gondek recall was also weaponized, as it was explicitly against her policies.

To make recall easier.

Using the voters list as a political weapon against a constituent feels like perfectly reasonable grounds for a recall to me.

Pretty obvious what happened
Team Trump, high on their own supply and sympathetic to Russia, thought they could make Ukraine surrender and declare Trump a glorious peacemaker.
Then they got out of their bubble into reality, embarrassingly flopped, and are now scrambling to lie trying to save face.
Over on X, they just rolled out the public feature that reveals where accounts are located. I've found several major Elon Musk fan accounts that are run out of Africa and two major MAGA accounts are run out of Europe
