Writing-to-editing ratio. I tracked my time when writing a 100-page MG novel. So far I’ve worked 220 hours on the book. Approximately 30% of that time was spent writing the 1st draft, but 70% was editing. The difference between a good novel & a publishable one is a rigorous revision process.

Terry Pratchett’s Discworld to be launched as graphic-novel series by Transworld and Puffin Transworld and Puffin have signed deals for three graphic-novel adaptations of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series, marking the start of the Discworld Graphic Novel Universe.

News! Wee Free Men, Thief of Time and Monstrous Regiment are being adapted into graphic novels with Transworld and Puffin. I’m word wrangling on WFM, and Gary Chudleigh and Rachel Stott are adapting ToT. Exciting times!
