I missed sharing this, but the #PWHL teams are playing games outside of their home ice and are getting crazy numbers for attendance. We went to the first one and it was a blast. Fingers crossed for an expansion team in Seattle. #WoSpo

In the theme of “use what I have in the house,” I made 2 vegan soups this week: 1) red lentil with bulgur and red pepper and 2) creamy rutabaga and parsnip. Both were a hit with the fam 🍽️

I grow tomato plants from seed every year, including several Roma plants for sauce. I freeze the tomatoes, and then when I have a not busy day 😂, I pressure can a batch of spaghetti sauce. Always better than store-bought. #Gardening #HomeMade #Preserving #Canning

My favorite fall fruit

My partner is a school librarian. I went to help at the book fair and bought some books to keep at work for when we have young visitors. The book fair helps fund the library, allowing them to buy more great books like these for the kids.

I couldn’t make it through the original Deadpool, but I have liked the X-Men movies. My dislike of Deadpool overrode my like of Wolverine, though, so I won’t be watching that one.

😻 We grow 10 San Marzano plants every year and then freeze the tomatoes as they ripen. Then when done, we can marina sauce which lasts us until the next year’s canning.

I did not squeeze but I did do a few things different. 1) I cut each cabbage leaf off the head raw and dipped it in boiling water for a minute or so then I layer them on a baking rack. 2) I had left over brown rice quinoa blend I used instead of minute rice. These just were not watery.

Made a plant-based (beyond beef) version of my mom’s (maybe grandma’s) cabbage rolls last night. The “recipe” was an email she sent me and I printed from my EarthLink email account 20 years ago. The best part is the description of the sauce 🍽️ #ComfortFood #Veganize #PlantBased
