It was daunting at first. I was just a naive Newfie girl and couldn't pronounce half the words and what the hell was picoplankton. So out of my league, but I stumbled my way through. Been many times to the Spring Garden Road branch and sad to see it go. And yes I was there when Harper was in.

I would love to go brambling but the blackberries around us are just drying up. I managed to pick 5 ripe berries yesterday while I was out on my walk. We usually get at least 20 pints jam for the freezer. Not happening this year and only 3 pints left from last year.

I was just looking at your profile and we have lots in common. I am not a professional librarian but my career starred in public libraries and then I worked for DFO at a scientific research library. Most of the time I spent there was in Ill which I just loved.

Just finished the book A Town Like Alice that my son found at a thrift store. I am fairly knowledge about authors but never heard of Nevil Shute. What a great read!

My heart dog was Chance, a shepherd/husky/collie mix. We were her 3rd owners and she had us for 11 years. So happy to read about your Chance. Reading your book now and my heart aches for the ones who didn't make it. Thank you is not enough for all that you do.
