One can hope, but I don't think so. I wrote a long email explaining and they ignored it and just said my deferral was approved. They don't care at all.

I tried. They admitted I was still a resident but essentially said, those are the forms they have so I should just pick one. I opted for a temporary deferral. It's not a permanent solution, but I've reached out to several organizations and my congressman about it. It seems to be a form used GA-wide.

For additional context, I have a permanent physical home in Georgia, my vehicles are still registered there, I have an active Georgia license. I pay taxes in Georgia. And I voted from Spain in my local Georgia county for the most recent presidential election.

I got summoned for jury duty in Georgia and obviously can't make it because I currently live in Spain. They said I have to renounce my right to residency in my county, and thus, my right to vote, in order to be excused from jury duty.

Does anyone have experience with this?

No clue! 😅 I haven't seen any houses in the city and haven't been to the suburbs yet. But some apartments have that UK one where there's a hole in the door for the mail man to drop the mail into from outside.
