11.10.2025 12:00 β π 29 π 5 π¬ 4 π 6A Pink-footed Goose walking across short green grass, caught mid-step with its head turned slightly to the side. Its pale belly contrasts with darker brown head and barred grey back, while its bright pink legs and feet stand out vividly
Oh! A Pink-footed Goose is waddling through your feed. How very silly. π

18.08.2025 17:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Painting of a crow sitting on a branch. The colours are flat and splotchy, some areas are still unpainted, the sketch and outlines peeking through.
Painting of a crow sitting on a branch. It's coloured in cool blue hues and is roughly shaded. The blue is now also present in the previously black background, swirling like mist around the animal.
Started working on this crow painting back in 2021 (left). Today I sat down and finally put my acrylics and paintbrushes to use again (right).
It's looking a little messy, but I feel like I made good progress and have an idea how I want this painting to look in the end.

A bit weird to think that I've completed all my modules. I've only my work placement and my thesis left to do.
05.08.2025 16:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A digital painting of an apple core. The sides that have been bitten off form the silhouettes of Audrey and Siegfried (from the 2020 TV show βAll Creatures Great and Smallβ) in profile. The apple is coloured and shaded in a painterly way, whilst both charactersβ heads are only sketched in to let the focus remain on the apple core. The two apple seeds in the middle of the core are arranged to form a heart.
Thought Iβd give this art trend a try ^^

Colourful beads strung together to form a lizard keychain.
Made a lizard freehand :D
29.07.2025 15:37 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I used this template (slightly altered it because of the elasticity of the string I used & the shape that I wanted): www.deviantart.com/angishyart/a...

Finally made a rat out of beads yesterday. Didn't have brown beads for a hooded rat so I decided to make a rainbow one instead :)

The unusual pyriform (long and pointy) shape of guillemot eggs has caused a lot of discussion among scientists - and as always, it comes down to egg-volution.
Find out the point of these perfectly peaked eggs in this weekβs #SurprisingScience π₯ποΈ

21.07.2025 13:05 β π 12010 π 1211 π¬ 272 π 49The book "Cobweb" by Michael Morpurgo. The book is closed and its cover depicts the protagonist, a Pembrokeshire corgi named Cobweb, front and center in the countryside of Wales. Behind him stands an army drummer, and birds are soaring through the golden sky.
The book is opened to a page roughly im the middle of the book, which features an illustration of a man and dog riding on the back of a horse.
Michael Morpurgo's "Cobweb" was such a lovely, quick read.
I'm normally not really a fan of a first person point of view, but for this sweet story, it was the perfect choice. And the illustrations by Michael Foreman are lovely.
Best cast. Best people.

20.07.2025 16:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I am holding the book "The Wild Robot" by Peter Brown in front of a white background. The cover is an illustration by the author, depicting Roz, the robot protagonist, standing on top of a rocky cliff, overlooking the ocean beneath. Behind Roz, a red sun can be seen above a forest landscape. The bold letters spelling out the title of the book are in a blocky font that resembles the strokes of a hard paintbrush.
Today I read "The Wild Robot" by Peter Brown. I had to put the book down so many times to wipe my eyes π!
It was so good and beautiful and heart-wrenching! I think especially because I love nature and found family it ticked all the right boxes for me.
And the illustrations β so adorable!
Did not expect this result, haha

Close-up of a Stock Dove, showing its soft grey feathers, glossy black eye, and a hint of iridescent green and purple on the neck. Its slight upturned beak and gentle expression give the impression of a serene - and mysteriously knowing - smile, set against a softly blurred green background.
You have been visited by the smiling Stock Dove.
It grants you great wisdom and fortune.

A colourful graphic titled 'Help wildlife beat the heat' with illustrations and tips on creating natural habitats. Tips include letting grass grow long to provide cool refuge for insects, planting shrubs for shade, setting up shallow water stations for hydration, and creating muddy puddles to help nesting birds, amphibians and reptiles. The scene depicted shows a garden for wildlife, with long grass, pools of water, trailing plants and a muddy puddle set against a fence. The sun is pictured in the top right in orange hues.
This week's shaping up to be a scorcher for many across the UK. βοΈ
Here are four ways to help your garden visitors stay cool this summer. π
