And when it comes to ending a sentence on a quote I always put the period outside of the quote. Much to the dismay of my English teachers. If the period is in the quote, how can the sentence possibly be considered complete. Stubborn I know.

Doesn’t this depend on if the question is within the quotes or if the question *includes* a quote? If I’m quoting a question but not asking the question myself, ? goes inside. That just makes sense, it’s not a question *I’m* asking.

A few weeks ago I was on a train from Huntington that arrived at Jamaica 15 min late because the conductor took 1-3 min to open the doors at every single stop.

But the overwhelming majority of my trips are a good experience.

Was the online data wrong? It showed it arriving at Jamaica on time.

Ah. I like using the back staircase because I feel like there is more room. But I mostly transfer between main line trains so maybe I’m missing something for ATL trains.

If it doesn’t plateau we would very quickly NEED to start building more lines. But it will probably plateau.

MNR/LIRR are where we will be able to truly exceed 2019 by a significant amount. If/when the stations in the city get more frequent and fare integrated service, and are densified.

Queensway is short and awful because it would block rail service.

I know of LI Greenway, but it won’t go through Nassau county for a while. And when they do, it will meander indirectly on neighborhood streets and next to major roads because the Vanderbilt ROW is mostly gone.

It’s not the biggest issue, just a minor annoyance that will likely never go away. If I do get stuck behind peds it would still only be a short delay.

I was disappointed a few months ago when it became clear how small the width of the crossing would be. It should have been wider and had bike makings one one half. With how small it is, probably gonna be awkward biking in “pedestrian space” when it is busy.

How does London get away with 1PTO on many suburban rail lines? Do you think LIRR/MNR could ever go down to that? I feel like it makes sense to keep them to 2PTO, but I may be biased.

I refuse to ride in the door zone. That is why I am only TRULY comfortable biking in the city with my 25 mph e-bike. I have always ridden ~15 mph in protected bike lanes as that is the speed that is comfortable in them. Outside of that I need to be able to keep up with traffic to avoid driver rage.

It is maddening that they even consider installing a new door zone bike lane in 2025. It is more safe for someone to ride in the car lane. Every single unprotected bike lane (with parked cars next to it) needs to be replaced with either a protected bike lane or a low traffic street (modal filter).

Sit near the middle of the cars. It is less bouncy and you almost never hear the wheel noise unless it’s the worst of the worst.

The end is always tempting but sitting in the middle is a much more pleasant ride.
