This paper is the sibling of another one, led by Rachel Granger at Bangor, which looked at the social return on investment of Citizens Advice on Prescription, which also reported a positive social return on investment.

We found Citizens Advice on Prescription reduced antidepressant prescriptions, mental health emergencies and A&E attendances, and mental health related GP consultations. It is likely to improve mental health and be cost-saving.

I am mad about data, and work with lots of teams sharing the madness. A bunch of us Northerners, inspired by @profbuchan.bsky.social, wrote of working together as big team of Unis, NHS, local gov, charities and citizens to use data+combined skills to innovate.
