Today is World Hearing Day. Usher syndrome can impact hearing in different ways, depending on the type a person has. Many people with Usher syndrome use hearing aids, over-the-ear cochlear implants, or off-the-ear cochlear implants to access sound and speech.

These posts showing the beauty of our world are making me emotional when there is so much harm being done to it needlessly and carelessly.

Thatcher did this with the Falklands. She also stripped Britain of its assets and prioritised the very rich while also protecting pedophiles.

Regular reminder that your social media is for you. You don't have to see anything you don't want to see. Protect your sanity and do not feel guilty. Bluesky allows you to mute key words for fixed periods of time (7 days is a good one). 'Hide post for me' is another very useful function.

I understand FPTP.

It does take a lot of votes to win.

However enabling extreme parties to gain power is not a win.

Coalitions ca happen in FPTP too and have more stability.

As I said, worthwhile candidates and policies are the issue, not the system. Be votable by the majority.

These are the pleasures in life that not everyone stops to appreciate. I think when we are in tune with our senses for whatever reason, and then we get comfort just right, it is heavenly

As someone with Usher Syndrome 2A who has worked with the research teams at Moorfields so that they could track my condition over time, I am so grateful this work happens and that I can contribute to advancing scientific knowledge by attending research appointments.

This #RareDiseaseDay weโ€™re spotlighting four rare eye conditions our researchers are working to better understand and treat.

From Usher syndrome to Charles Bonnet Syndrome, weโ€™re developing new diagnostics & treatments and raising awareness to improve patient lives.

So disappointing .

Same. Galloway isnโ€™t a decisive factor at all and it was a strange statement to make. Desperate.

The use of โ€œsectarianโ€ was also unwise. It has the opposite effect to what he intended.

Makes it clear he is not observing the real situation well, which is worrying about a PM.

28.02.2026 02:09 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 4    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Itโ€™s not a disaster.
There is nothing dishonest about this result.

I like that it takes an outstanding candidate and a good manifesto to win.

Itโ€™s not the measure that is at fault, it is the worth of the content

28.02.2026 02:04 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

It wasnโ€™t personal. I mean generally. In relation to PR about other policies - they donโ€™t really matter

27.02.2026 22:13 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

You canโ€™t fob off disabled people with better press on railways. We feel every pinch, every squeeze of every policy. Fifteen percent of the population. We knew not to trust tories. The betrayal by Labour cannot be undone. The hope lost has cut deep. To us, our families, our friends, our carers.

27.02.2026 20:04 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 6    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

In addition the emphasis on workers and getting disabled people back to work WITHOUT any improvement to infrastrure accessibility, enforcing the Equality Act, and diminishing SEND provision, is a direct attack on the very people who were demonised under the conservatives. People who voted Labour

27.02.2026 20:00 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 5    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Itโ€™s much more than bad pr.

The party has betrayed core values. I wrote to m Labour MP about the UC bill and he wrote back on commons paper saying โ€œyouโ€™ll be alright, itโ€™ll only impact new claimsโ€. So new disabled people donโ€™t count? He thinks I only care about myself? How very Tory

27.02.2026 19:56 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 8    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Itโ€™s so odd also that he could choose to embrace the Greens, recognise the social policies that focus on people, and appreciate the message the voters are singing .

The conservatives embraced UKIP and Reform.

Is he worried that the Greens will swallow up Labour and replace them?

27.02.2026 17:41 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 3    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

So heโ€™s saying itโ€™s not his fault, itโ€™s George Gallowayโ€™s?

Howโ€ฆ arrogant?

Itโ€™s silly people being impatient?

As a disabled voter who is disappointed in his policies to the extent I wonโ€™t vote Labour again and will be voting Green next time, I find his response lacking reality.
