Responding to the cabinet item on the medium term budget refresh, Cllr Deborah Harries said:
"This is a tighter than usual settlement, reliant on continuing increases in council tax. So much for the Labour Government riding to the rescue."
"This is not a good saving and these difficulties are hardly news, so why is it significantly worse than expected?"
The council responded saying that work will take place to improve recruitment.

Drug dealing and abuse, aggressive begging and rampant shoplifting are now a major threat to the future in Acocks Green, with residents concerned for their personal safety when shopping and visiting places of worship and community centres.
The cabinet member said that the statutory duty is for ยฃ1000 with of kit for each individual for certain devices. Those devices are provided without charge, and based on needs of the individual.
