Issues with demographics in the USA gradually having increasingly more retirees relative to workers, could be fixed instantly simply by going back to the pre-1924 immigration policies (ala Ellis Island) that enabled huge economic growth and innovation. But these folks don't want to hear that.

There is NO "fertility crisis", rather it turns out humans are not like bacteria in a culture that will mindlessly exponentially reproduce beyond any natural resource base, but instead respond to economic & sociopolitical conditions.
