We are looking forward to welcoming you to our 45th meetup of Hamburg's indie game developers. We're gathering to get to know each other, listen to exciting talks by cool speakers and of course: play games.

Pascal is a game programmer and hobby gamedev generalist, currently working at the Hamburg based indie studio Tiny Roar. He is also a longtime game jam enthusiast with 30+ game jams under his belt, always on the lookout for the next jam to participate in.

A hobby, a excuse to develop finally a prototype and a way to meet new people and build a portfolio on your way into the games industry. In this talk I want to shine a light on all of these aspects and provide some guiding lights on how to get the most out of your next jam!

After over 20 ported projects, it's time to spill the tea a bit and share some of the tips/tricks.

Busy with working on their next game, a 2D horror project with the WIP title "Melodies", they got to keep the lights on with a bunch of freelance work, like for example 2D animations/illustrations, lecturing at universities or doing console ports.

This talk will explain what it takes, what to keep in mind and what you absolutely should not do when porting to console platforms like Nintendo/PlayStation/Xbox.

Slawa Deisling is the Co-Founder and programmer of the Hamburg based indie studio "Behind The Stone".

Games release nowadays on lots of platforms. As they should, since you want to reach out to as many potential players as possible.

In order to do that you need to port your game to the respective platforms.
