I think one of my favorite things to remember for black history month is the fact that right after emancipation and the end of the civil war salve owners were begging Black people to come back and work for them because they realized they now had to do all the labor themselves.

Fun little tidbit: The family of the slave owner is allegedlystiil angry he didnt return to live as a slave because the dude ended up losing fortune practically overnight.

Weird how they didnt think he needed to pull himself up by his bootstraps.

A good example of this was this letter from Jourdon Anderson to his former slave master who was begging him to come back because his farm was failing because he was mediocre and lazy to do it himself.
