Helping families displaced by the Eaton fire find a rental is a challenge. Many Altadena homes had 4+ bedrooms & housed multi-generational families. There are very few rentals big enough to accommodate, and tend to be 3-4 story townhomes w/stairs, ruling them out for the elderly family members.

LA Public Press surveyed more than 30 Altadena residents, most of whom said they never received Wireless Emergency Alerts from Los Angeles County ordering them to evacuate.
