We are looking in to this case. The more we learn, the clearer it becomes that the DOJ is trying to criminalize the use of privacy-protecting phones.

We have learned that an Atlanta-based activist was arrested by DHS and FBI yesterday around 6pm. Community leaders say this arrest is an attack on dissent, and call for his release. Charges are unknown. We stand ready to support all targets of political repression.
03.12.2025 17:48 β π 27 π 13 π¬ 2 π 0Regardless we will continue our work supporting and defending those who are targeted for political prosecution. Please contribute at atlsolidarity.org to help us keep going, and stand up for protesters wherever you see them attacked!
09.09.2025 16:46 β π 45 π 21 π¬ 0 π 1This is not the end of the RICO case, but it's a reminder that the State's campaign of repression is destined to fail. What happens next will decide whether the AG simply returns to the drawing board for the next round of attacks, or is finally held accountable for their abuses.
09.09.2025 16:46 β π 127 π 33 π¬ 1 π 0The Cop City RICO is in crisis. Judge Farmer plans to throw out the bulk of the case on the reasoning that the Georgia Attorney General's office was not invited by the Fulton DA (Fani Willis) to bring the case, so it lacks constitutional authority to prosecute.
09.09.2025 16:46 β π 341 π 109 π¬ 5 π 6Pre-trial motions were heard today for the Cop City RICO case. Prosecutors showed that they lack evidence, and worse - they haven't even bothered to build a coherent argument over the past two years.
Political prosecutions are about suppressing protest, not winning trials.
...the authorities have ignored due process and constitutional rights in their rush to shut down dissent. While it's good to see this recognized now, we are still waiting for justice for the many other violations which all Cop City defendants still face.
15.08.2025 00:42 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0From the start, the campaign to kill the Stop Cop City movement has been a series of abuses of the legal system to gain "tactical advantage" against people protesting powerful interests. From police brutality to unlawful arrests to bogus indictments to punitive bond conditions...
15.08.2025 00:42 β π 10 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0The Attorney General's web of repression is unraveling. Another judge is now on record finding serious flaws in the case against Cop City defendants. The judge recognized that the AG is deliberately violating due process rights to gain "tactical advantage" in their prosecution.
15.08.2025 00:42 β π 8 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0Over two years ago, Jamie Marsicano was arrested and charged with "domestic terrorism" because of their participation in protests against Cop City. Today those charges have been dismissed. While the RICO case still stands, this is a telling victory in the larger fight.
15.08.2025 00:42 β π 82 π 26 π¬ 1 π 1As the result of many suits showing a pattern of misconduct, courts are beginning to acknowledge the existence of an institutional "Cop City Policy" dictating targeted repression of activists. This creates institutional legal liability for APD, GSP, Atlanta and GA governments.
28.07.2025 19:02 β π 12 π 5 π¬ 0 π 0Lawsuits are mounting against the police for Cop City-related abuses. If you have been mistreated for participating in a protest movement, get in touch! We believe in helping protesters bring suits like these to discourage abuse in the future.

The trial of Ayla King (a defendant in the Cop City RICO case) has been postponed again. Details in this thread:
07.07.2025 18:16 β π 12 π 6 π¬ 0 π 0Trial is scheduled to begin tomorrow for Ayla King, 1 of 61 defendants in the RICO case brought by the GA Attorney General to suppress protests against Cop City. The verdict will set the stage for all Cop City defendants, and for the rights of protesters everywhere going forward.
06.07.2025 16:18 β π 50 π 26 π¬ 1 π 1Reports of extreme force used against protesters in the Atlanta area today, including tear gas and violent arrests. If you were arrested or brutalized, please get in touch to learn how we can support you!

12.06.2025 14:17 β π 19 π 17 π¬ 1 π 0Chris Carr threatens to charge protesters with domestic terrorism. He knows this is unconstitutional (the courts will ultimately throw out such cases) but he hopes that in the meantime, shock and fear will keep people out of the streets. Don't let the AG's terrorist tactics win.
12.06.2025 03:55 β π 67 π 27 π¬ 3 π 0Police attacked an anti-ICE protest in Atlanta tonight. People have been arrested and as always we are committed to helping them get out of jail. Please contribute at atlsolidarity.org to help us continue our work.
11.06.2025 03:25 β π 27 π 22 π¬ 0 π 0The authorities have deployed the military against protesters in Atlanta as recently as 2023. There's no doubt they will try it again sooner or later. But people have a right to protest, to march, to fight for justice. No power, not even the military, can take that away.
09.06.2025 18:55 β π 57 π 14 π¬ 0 π 0First the Atlanta Police Foundation, now the DHS/FBI...why are the authorities going to such lengths to conceal information about their activities against the Stop Cop City Movement?

The criminal legal system is being used by right wing politicians to punish their political enemies without ever showing evidence or holding a trial. If we allow the lives of protesters to be destroyed like this, the First Amendment is meaningless.

The campaign of invasive surveillance, intimidation, and malicious prosecution against Cop City protesters has not ended. It will become the new normal unless the public demands answers and accountability. Who is behind this conspiracy against dissent?
