do you even know how to create an AI image? like, what commands use, how to adjust the image, and so on? you can set textures, exact colors, mess with exact locations and such, i never did one cuz no knowledge on it, but my friend did a image for me and took work to refine it, it's not easy to do

so you are saying that, my imagination creation is not art just cuz i preffer to use AI instead of a pencil? i could write an image, i could make a image based in calculation, could make a sculpture or paint, but just cuz i decided to make it using a TOOL called AI it has less value?

AI for me is the same as a photo, difference being one capturing what i'm seeing the other what i'm imagining, artists can do both better and put their soul in it, but i'm not seeing all tourists carring around a personal artist on their pockets when they go to France or whatever

i am, but gold, coal, nyobium, iron, diamonds, are like that, it depends, may vary, but there are lots of common resources extrated in open mining style, that is terrible for the eco system, but nobody trully cares, underground is better but not much, oil is horrible but gas is a must have nowadays

cuz i don't know where to find them? one thing is asking google: "best steam locomotive evermade" and other is asking chat gpt, it will do in seconds what i could have done in hours on google and even link the source, that is the importance of it, and in a limited lifetime this is relevant

like i said, tecnology will never be bad or good, only the people using it are, so that is where you need to focus, why shoot the messenger instead of who sended it?
ppl should separate good and bad use to start with, not condamming all of it
firearms, cars, internet, electricity, all the same

the waste is irrelevant for the planet, and the extraction of coal, petrol and wood is worse than uranium alone, also, since chernobyl all reactors are way better designed and mannered, that's why fukushima didn't exploded like chernobyl, was only a minor radioactive leak if compared one to other

i always confirm, even books i do that, especially if i have a source, blindly believing in anything will not do any good to anyone

solar panels can increase the location heat cuz they suprisingly get hotter with the sunlight hitting them :o (surprised pikachu face)
they are still really good, but they do have a impact in the global warming if you use enough, it's a big number but not a impratical one

and yet, is way distant that what you said and fukushima was a major natural disaster, chernobyl type disasters don't occur anymore unless intended

i didn't say we didn't know, i said we didn't know completelly, and i don't know how to draw, and don't see use in learning it if i can make what i envision using AI, i could pay someone to do but i'm poor, not gonna pay for something that is not memorable enough, would if it was cuz quality

and just adding, no tipe of no renewable generator is good, fission reactors are rn the best ones in a ecological and efficiency viewpoint, there is enough uranium for probably more time than humans will live on earth

that doesn't make any sense, Fukushima incident is proof of that, ppl think all reactors can become a Chernobyl level disaster or worse for some reason, also "cleaner" energy like hydro fucks up nature, solar can help with global warming, wind is the best, but costly and complicated to setup

i use AI for research, to help me find informations that would take too much time doing alone, to help making a text, to give me ideas of what to do when i play some things, to generate images that i have the idea but not the ability to make, i always confirm but still, helps a lot, better google

also, it's not our waste specifically that is messing the planet, is the bad management of it and stupid ideas like not using nuclear power cuz fear, and instead use carbon power like germany does, the lack of incentive and understanding of technology is the problem, the planet don't care about us

i don't think there is no true originality, everything is copyed, from nature, from other ppl, whatever, inspiration is the power of copying something and making new stuff, not always will be totally different, some times will be completelly different, some time its a really thin line

the idea of AI is for it to have the capacity of inspiration, this will take a long time cuz a bio brain is completelly different from a digital brain, and we don't even know how a bio brain works completelly, we are trying to copy it or making a new way of thinking different from ours, that is AI

the problem is not the AI, is the bad use of it, as the bad use of uranium can lead to thousands of deaths, the bad use of bioengineering can make a bio weapon, and so on, technology is never bad or good, only ppl can decide the use of it

by your definition then the fission of atoms in a controlled way for energy or belic use is unnatural, domestic cows are unnatural, cities are unnatural, smartphones are unnatural, everything that didn't came by natural evolution and no human intervention is unnatural, do you see the hypocrisy?

we copy nature all the time, we copy each other all the time, or do you think Pepsi is original compared to Coca?

Humans are also unatural by millenia, and every thing we did are unatural as well, and what is the problem? who decide what is "natural" and "unatural" to begin with?

AI is inevtable like industralization and globalization was, they had they eco problems too, human waste can also be solved by ppl starting to live like natives did, at bare minimun will reduce to not being enviromentally significant, but that is impossible nowadays cuz confort and covenience

i think the same, but still, at least I don't have all the information needed to say for sure they uses AI in bad faith like you are saying, i know they can, and there are ppl who use like that, but i rlly don't like to think everyone is like that, everyone have their own motives, deadlines are one

i got you point, but Ai's are dumber than a human newborn, they will take a really long time to do the thinking we do as soon we left our mothers womb, the max the can do is look araound and connect things, using others as base, they don't have "inspiration" like we do, yet

what i see is someone saying that AI is a eco problem and shouldn't be used cuz no, but it seems they don't see that AI is an eco problem like industrial revolution was, it persisted, and we improved, lowering the eco problem of it, AI eco problem will also lower with time, just need incentive

think the "placeholder" thing is just an excuse cuz everybody is overhating them, about ethical, can't relate, for me AI generated text is the same as you creating a text using texts from others too.
Ecological? think i didn't undestood but, human waste is a way bigger and overlooked eco problem

Can't really see the problem of they using it, if the final product is as good as everything else they did then it is ok by me.
