The Grimwrithe is actually a demon in its natural form (normally they will project themselves in another form, such as The Hat Man), so if you encounter one it will consume up to 90 points of your sanity.

7/7 The last, and most mysterious, of the enemies are the Wretchbounds, aka the Scarecrows. I can't say too much about the Wretchbounds without getting into spoiler territory, so I will just say that they are something of a cross between a Ghost and a Demon.

6/7 Demidemons, such as the Pumpkimps and Cherubs, are Demons that have been manifested into our dimension in a physical form. Because they have a physical body, they can - and will - harm you if they can catch you.

5/7 ...Demons cannot physically harm you, though when they appear they will cause you psychic damage - and the lower your sanity, the more frequently they will appear.

4/7 Demons, on the other hand, are not spirits of anyone who ever lived - though they may present themselves as such to trick their victims. Demons are entities from a parallel hellish dimension, and sometimes the veil between our dimension and theirs thins just enough for you to briefly see them...

3/7 ...The Ghosts actually work in opposition to the other dark forces at work in the maze - but that does not mean that they won't attack you if given the opportunity.

2/7 I already covered the Grave Ghosts' backstory, so won't spend too much time on them other than to say that Ghosts are, as you would expect, spirits of people (or in the case of The Hound, an animal) that were previous victims of the maze...

What exactly happened at the farm...no one is entirely sure, but the five teenagers disappeared without a trace, and were never seen or heard from again.

In 1944 - two years after the Warren Family Farm mysteriously was abandoned - Charley, Carley, Benny and Jenny decided to play a prank on poor Barb. They pretended to want to be friends to lure her to the abandoned farm...

3/5 Charley, Carley, Benny and Jenny were the popular kids in their high school. Charley was the school baseball team's starring pitcher. Barb's parents emigrated to Nebraska from Japan before she was born, and early 1940's rural America was not exactly the most welcoming environment...
