Words cannot express how thankful I am to SEGA and RGG Studio for continuing to support VF and more specifically VF5.

I love many, many fighting games but nothing comes close to me compared to VF5.

Sorry rambling but if the story elements really speak to you with the hard sci-fi and such that you mentioned, maybe you can wait for someone to compile all the codexes and treat it like a book later on.

Don’t worry about it being pleasant or not. It was insightful for me and helps me sympathize with you and another who’s voiced similar thoughts on the game.

I am basically treating it as a multiplayer versus title with moments of neat interaction but your perspective totally makes sense.

The other thing I want to call out for RE9 is the haptics and use of the DualSense controller.

The rain blips, left/right foot sensation from walking, trudging through waist-deep water, and use in even the cutscenes is nuts. Maybe even better than Returnal somehow.

I think it’s a great sign when a game is polarizing. It means the developers stuck to their vision and didn’t try to cater to too wide of a crowed.

I love when the masses agree that a game is great. That’s fun and a feel good situation.

But not every game should be that.

This is my comfort as we navigate upcoming talks of GenAI in games.

Worst case scenario, we have literal years of backlogged titles haha.

Seeing others agree that MIO is more difficult than HK and Silksong.

(It’s also the better game but that’s subjective and person dependent and yatta yatta and I realize HK and Silksong are amazing in their own right for various reasons)

I know Marathon isn’t appealing to you but that and Out of Action seem like good ones this year to me.

Many are gaga over Deadlock if you count that, too.

I think the average consumer is inflating how important holiday titles are now and don’t realize the industry shifted to a year round model trying to appease numbers each quarter eons ago 😅

Both are phenomenal looking for their graphical prowess and art direction, granted. But I sincerely hope these games get their flowers for their sound design too cause holy sh-

I’m currently a fan of their suggest first person for Grace, third person for Leon. But just the option is awesome, and both actually work.

I think playing a bit further kind of addresses some of this, I feel anyway.

Totally entitled to feel that way though.

I haven’t really played an extraction shooter. I was so, so lost the first few runs.

Didn’t understand the game loop or progression or the real goal. Felt dumb, and bad.

But then it started clicking and, I think I like this.

I have roughly twenty eight thousand games I would like to play but I really need a release date on this new Ace Combat man.

I cannot wait for that game man.

I need to beat CrossCode one day but definitely gonna focus on this first.
