Basically, it’s absurd how much being in several hours of meetings about my productivity effects my ability to be… productive. I’m enjoying the quietness and this is the most satisfying day of work that I’ve had in a month.

I was asked yesterday if I can take on a side project that I had to surrender due to not being able to meet my other goals. I asked if I could be guaranteed a block of focus time (no meetings) to try, and we struck a deal. I expected it to take two days. I’m nearly done and it’s lunch time.

What kills me is that bulk of the meetings are status updates on the work that I can’t get to… because of all the status update meetings.

How is it that my workload has effectively doubled but now I’m also in 5-6 hours of meetings per 8 hour day and they are asking why my output is lower than before?

This is not my dawg, but I got to pet that dawg.

This has been an idyllic day. I’ve been enjoying the slightly chilly spring weather, cleaning house, and listening to tunes. All the screens are open and I’m in my favorite sweatshirt, sitting outside and it’s so quiet. It’s been a pretty perfect weekend overall.

Local Mardi Gras celebration! We had fun and I gave my teen some cash -and sent her to run amok with friends. We all had a blast! The Boudain was amazing.

We finally watched Your Name. One of the most beautiful movies I’ve ever seen. My daughter sobbed through quite a bit of it. This anime was the complete package— great story, visually stunning, sci-fi elements, and a satisfying ending.

I can’t stand installing and configuring software. Being able to task Claude with it and ask it to explain my options to me is chef’s kiss.

The news cycle hasn’t really been showcasing this, but is Minneapolis still under ICE occupation?

It’s so dang good! I just wish it wasn’t so salty! 340mg in a teaspoon sized serving is a crime. It tastes like soy sauce to me.

O just tried marmite on buttered toast! It’s VERY salty, but I like it! It reminds me a bit of soy sauce.

Oh yeah. This is happening. I already have been told that I won’t like it, but I think I need to touch the hot stove anyway. And with such a tiny jar, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity.

I think the gov’t is about to learn that women are far more attached to their rights than they are a last name. I was hoping to keep my name to match my daughter, but looks like I may be going back to my maiden name. It’s a lot of work, but I’ve done plenty of harder things.

I don’t usually post Engrish because I only know English and a smattering of ASL and Spanish, but this was unintentionally funny AF.

When we were in Boston, a local came up to us. He was really high and stripped down to his boxers, told us to not be like them Boston boys, and he walked away shouting, “Be good! I love you!” I waved and yelled back, “I LOVE YOU TOO! BEHAVE!”

I think about that dude a lot.

Tonight we are watching MST3K: Pumaman. It’s kiddo’s first Mystery Science Theater movie. But this is pretty much how we watch all movies anyway— tons of sass.

Tonight’s movie is Nacho Libre.

I live by a bunch of refineries and our remaining wild spaces are being developed steadily. I was pretty surprised!
