Playtests continue as new wanderers are being pulled inside the King’s influence. How long until you lose yourself?

Will you incarn the orphan who ought to become a legend or the lord, bound to lose everything and everyone?

These abominations struck without warning, like a grotesque wave of twisted horrors

They once stood where we are now. They once had the same mission as ours.

But something took them. And toyed with them like playthings

We were all terrified of what would happen if we were to also change

The past few days marked the first true playtest of Merging Lands, 2 years ago we started with fragments scattered on a page, this week those fragments were at the heart of our table’s discussions.

We march on 🧿

The Tesselated Knights patrol the streets of the capital, carrying out the will of the saints concealed within the tallest towers of the holy city. Their armor embodies their faith in Yarvas, ever shifting, unpredictable like the god itself.

The earth trembled from its steps. From within its armor came the cries of those it had already taken, clawing at the metal, trying to tear their way out.

In that moment, being crushed by its hammer felt like the gentler fate.

We should have listened to the old man's advice.

All across the Forests of the Gravefields, ivory saplings have begun to grow from the petrified bodies of the Old Giants. These pale growths made of animal and human bones seem to follow death and only take root in the corpse of these Titans of stone.

It surrounds us, pressing from every direction.
Mountains born from the pull. Nameless Cities rendered uninhabitable. What remains is a cage rising to the clouds, slowly collapsing, beyond any hope of stabilization.

Veshkär has yet to join the everlasting gravefields.

There are some who still live among the corpses. These barons of death live in the old manors by the roads. Whether they are true heirs or self proclaimed, it matters little. They all close the doors at night, when the shells leave their beds of dirt to hunt.

The gravefields shelter those rejected by the kingdom, bandits, deserters, and the forsaken. They survive by digging through the endless reserve of keepsakes buried beneath the tombs. History keeps getting erased in their path.

Beneath the capital’s moats stretch the gravefields.
Plains, lakes, and forests scarred by centuries of war, where countless nations lie compressed into one morbid land. The walls there are colorless and the crowns have long since lost their names to rust. Only the trees seem to keep on living.
