24.11.2024 08:42 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Hancock: โDo not resuscitate ordersโ were wrongly used The Daily Telegraph - Saturday23 Nov 2024By Amy Gibbons MATT HANCOCK has admitted โdo not resuscitate ordersโ were โwrongly appliedโ during the pandemic. The former health secretary told the Covid Inquiry the practice had been used inappropriately, denying people access to potentially life-saving treatment. He also suggested the UK should lock down faster in the event of a future pandemic, despite concerns over the impact of the measures. โDo not resuscitateโ (DNR) orders, which instruct doctors not to attempt CPR if a patientโs heart or breathing stops, are generally only supposed to be drawn up with the clear agreement of the person in question. But concerns were raised during the crisis that blanket DNRs had been imposed on vulnerable people without their consent.

Over here in the UK we can have a hospital passport which includes all of the information that medics need to know about your disability (Spina Bifida, vp shunt, lymphoedema etc). I also wear a medic alert bracelet. Of course, it doesn't mean they take any notice.
