Text on Gossip Rag reads: Promenades and Proposals...? Fret not, dear reader! This author is aware of rumors of a marriage proposal between the Lord Exarch and Mistress Lhese and is, unfortunately, here to put those rumors to rest. During yesterday’s promenade, the pair decided to steal away to the beach instead of the usual promenade route amid the top floor of Eulmore. One can only assume to get away from Lord Vauthry’s ever-watchful eye, and there are rumors that they were unchaperoned, but make no mistake; the pair did have the Exarch’s bodyguard, Lyna, keeping watch from the cliffside. Lord Thancred Waters and his ward, Ryne, and her friend, Lady Gaia, ward of Ser Urianger Augurelt, were also seen by various witnesses in the area, so they were not alone. Believe this author, dear reader, when she says she wishes this story was more salacious, but alas. The pair simply wanted to enjoy the salt air and the sea creatures roaming the shallow waters. Speaking of sea creatures, there were many reports from other promenaders that they witnessed the Exarch’s figure get down on one knee on the beach. This author confirmed that he was simply showing Mistress Lhese one of the local crustaceans. While there is no proposal (yet), one can only assume that the Exarch plans on doing so by the end of the season. Both he and Lord Vauthry have been vying for Mistress Lhese’s affections, and it is clear to all (save for a certain Lord) that the winner of the race was determined long ago. There is still plenty of time left, and should this author hear any whispers of a marriage offer, you will be the first to read about it. If Lord Vauthry’s shouts of anger don’t reach your ears first, that is.
