Other than that, this situation is so much bigger than you and I.

No matter how perfect of an activist you are, you alone cannot solve the situation.

because a hero cannot save us.

But our entire community can.

Shaming people for not standing in front of bullets is self-defeating

We often seek answers in an attempt to have control over a situation.

In rising fascism, the best direct defense we have is community.

Reassert those bonds.

Cherish your friends.

Give to your neighborhood.

Historically this is what we can do.

This is what helps.

god I hate these nerds so much

stop doing online activism and fucking go outside

I’m not gonna sacrifice myself for a bunch of white FUCKING NERDS at a protest or in a jail so that these fucking “theory over praxis” bone-heads can use my death as a gotcha in a fucking reddit argument instead of going outside and talking to a human

And that’s exactly what a lot of these hero-cosplayers are trying to do.

I’m a Fillipina woman.

I’m not gonna sacrifice my Asian ass at a protest to appease a bunch of white assholes who believe in the holy gods of communism but don’t believe that I have a right to agency or a right to sex work

I see people calling other people fascists for wanting to be safe.

I’m not gonna back any movement that treats people’s lives like chess pieces. Including any leftist one.

If the leftist plan is to get a lot of brown people dead, then I’m out.

I mean, I’ve never met so many people who were obsessed with being the hero to save the country. I hear a lot of talk of how to destroy things but not how to rebuild something new.

I see a lot of people accusing other people of being cowards because people are rightly afraid of the government

I don’t understand why Americans are obsessed with martyrdom.

Hundreds of Alligator Alcatraz detainees drop off the grid after leaving site As of the end of August, the whereabouts of two-thirds of more than 1,800 men detained at Alligator Alcatraz during the month of July could not be determined by the Miami Herald.

More than 1800 detainees are missing after the closure of Alligator Alcatraz. Their families and lawyers can’t find them and they’ve vanished from the ICE database. Feels like this should be a much bigger story www.miamiherald.com/news/local/i...

This is where most social media boycotts go wrong: they fail to realise that silence on a platform is nothing but silence. While the campaign surrounding the boycott may do some of the work they hope to achieve or the problems they hope to reveal, leaving a platform and cutting off a voice advocating for change simply means that voice stops being heard. The effective part isn’t leaving – it’s the conversation. When people posted nothing but black squares on Instagram, users stopped talking about institutional racism; when public figures left Twitter for two days over the Wiley anti-Semitism row, users spent the weekend talking about anything else

This effort becomes even more futile when accounts eventually return, thereby reinforcing the idea that, regardless of how the platform responds – or fails to respond – to the boycott, people will continue to use it as they did before. Returning to sites lets social media giants off without any repercussions, killing momentum and incentivising platforms to merely wait the boycott out.

While the intentions of boycotts may be positive, we have to ask: what do these organisations think will happen? That their temporary silence, with an end date scheduled from the start, will yield major changes or subdue abusive users?

It’s easy to carry out light-touch boycotts, pat ourselves on the back and act as though we have made an impact. But by viewing this ineffective form of protest as useful action, we move further away from the opportunity to make real change.

I’m being very specific here.

If someone’s response to you saying “I don’t want my information to be legally used against me,” is “you are too paranoid/lazy/trying to virtue signal,”

they are a cop or want you to be targeted by cops.

DOJ Deletes Study Showing Domestic Terrorists Are Most Often Right Wing Following Charlie Kirk’s assassination and the Trump administration’s promise to go after the “radical left” a study showing most domestic terrosim is far-right was disappeared.

The Department of Justice has removed a study showing that white supremacist and far-right violence “continues to outpace all other types of terrorism and domestic violent extremism” in the United States.

Their waists and hands were tied together, forcing them to bend down and lick water to drink. The unscreened bathrooms contained only a single sheet to cover their lower bodies. Sunlight barely penetrated through a fist-sized hole, and they were only allowed access to the small yard for two hours. Detained by US immigration authorities for eight days, the workers and their families expressed shock, describing human rights violations and absurdities they could not have imagined as ordinary Koreans living in 2025.
