It's a space that I'm *allowed* to share but that isn't intended to be seen by others. I can make messy screwed up doodle faces if that's what I want to _do_ today. It's also a pretty thin book so that I can use it up fast and see if I want to _do_ it again.

It's not a "sketchbook" or a "journal" in the usual senses in that I'm not trying to accurately record things for later or get out my feelings, it's a place where the process is the point. And sometimes that's about developing a process for later but it's also about just … _doing_ whatever.

I want to share a thing I'm trying in case anyone else wants to try it with me. I'm calling it a "doing book" because the idea is that it's a book where I just _do_.

Because of my brain damage, I have trouble drawing without tracing the basic outlines. So what I do is make 3d models in NomadSculpt, draw them, and iterate until I get a drawn output that looks "right" to me. In 2024 I finally got a Mu Qingfang model that I'm reasonably happy with

(the texture is a little weird 'cause it's 'Shaded and Glazed, though the version if you click all the way through the website to the linked image is only 'Shaded)

As someone who writes BingQiu, this is a trope that I have thought about quite a bit, since "just the tip" is all my Shen Qingqiu expects to be *able* to manage lol

His guan is extremely simple in this painting because it's the last gift Shizun gave him before the Abyss: one of his own older guans, sturdy and solid.

SQQ was thinking it would be useful as scrap metal, because SQQ remains remarkably clue-free despite the AU. Binghe would never.

His AU is one where Shen Yuan was a trans man and has far fewer qualms about crying in public and discussing his emotions, and as a result Luo Binghe is both demon emperor and a recognized master of Qing Jing. Also acting Peak Lord after SQQ dies (which only makes him try harder to get SQQ back).

The innkeeper isn't the bad guy in the story, he's a *good guy* in the story. He *doesn't have room in his inn* and then *finds a spot for Mary anyway*. And this act of kindness is why Jesus is born in a manger -- warm, dry, safe, surrounded by people that love him -- instead of out in the desert

Except he *doesn't* say that. He sees this lady who is absolutely about to pop and says, "ah, shit, I don't have any room in the inn, but I'll find a spot for you." He doesn't know this is the Savior of the World, he thinks it's just a scrubby pregnant lady and her boyfriend.

This is "I know that Jesus is a magic demigod, and the important thing is to show God the respect that he deserves", but actually the story of the Nativity is, "I don't know who this stranger is, but I can see they need help, and I'm going to be compassionate whether he deserves it or not."
