It really was too quiet on Saturday. Happy to hear that the intensity has picked up.

Talked to Matt about the lack of energy during the Saturday practice. Sounds like that’s not an issue any more.

Also, Ron English went off on the secondary about finishing plays. sounds like the defense is doing so.

But I think it may have something to do with Dabo letting him loose.

But also the receivers were much better last year. Just young. That’s why I think they may be a buzzsaw this year.

I also really hate how they played against Stanford because I went in the radio all week and wrote about all week how just defending the middle of the field would change the narrative about the defense.

But then they shit the bed and couldn’t handle very basic slants and RPOs from a horrendous team

An underrated aspect of UofL’s beatdown of Clemson last year was that they essentially took Klubnik out of the game.

I do think the staff failed him because they didn’t attack the middle of the field enough. Stanford did just that the following week and walked down the field all day.

Think it’s been a bit since UofL didn’t have a guy on the list. Was hopeful Chris Bell would make it but I don’t know his testing numbers.

Extremely detailed and well done look at UofL. The defensive data stood out to me. The lack of blitzing and teams throwing the hell out of the ball against the defense were things I didn’t know.

Got my number wrong from across the field. Michael Flores was working out solo. Just now left the field.

Deion Branch and Pete Nochta spent about 30-40 minutes with the NFL scouts that were here.

I saw Ravens, Colts, Bears, and someone else.

Meeks and Micah Rice are still out here with the jugs machine. Nygra and Juread are chopping it up with Dez Tell. Pounders has been working out on his own for like 30 minutes now. He’s the last guy out here.

Chris Bell and Antonio Meeks are still out here working. Holloway and Blake Ruffin also staying late to get some work in on press jams.

Haven’t seen a few guys Selah Brown, Perry is dressed but haven’t seen him take a rep. Don’t think I’ve seen Sylvester or Davon Mitchell. Don’t see Joseph Jefferson on the roster.

Time for a water break. One takeaway is the lack of new transfers with the first groups. Mack has pushed his way in but Hurry and Collins have not and neither has Lubin. Interested to see if Moussa holds on at LT.
