A big part of the authoritarian playbook is war. War takes over the news. War blots out criticism. War divides a nation’s people, subjecting those against it to being called unpatriotic. War grants leaders all sorts of emergency powers. War consumes everything else.

We mustn’t let this war do so.

You have clearly not read the War Powers Act, Mike. Everything you've written is totally wrong.

The War Powers Act SPECIFICALLY PROHIBITS military action unless: a/ there is a prior congressional authorization; or b/ it's a response to an attack against the U.S.

The goal seems clear. They just did a test run in Venezuela. The regime change will involve installing a puppet who will give Trump control of the oil money.

And hold them accountable for raping children while you are at it.

It’s so easy to go from the No War president to the regime-change war president. Especially if you’re the Board of Peace chair.

Trump's attacks on Iran are dangerously illegal and a mistake of staggering scale. Has he learned nothing from decades of U.S. military disaster in the Middle East? Has he spent not one single minute studying the lives lost and trillions wasted in Iraq and Afghanistan and Syria and Libya?
