After seeing the snow on Mt. Tam this year, some folks asked WMF about the famous Mill Valley ski map poster created by Bolinas artist, Lleweylln Ludlow. Here it is.οΏΌ

As he left the building in a state of deep despair and was walking back to his car, Steve pulled up in his UPS truck with "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas pouring out of the radio. It was a classic UPS Steve West Marin moment.

A friend of mine told me this story which I think sums up the Steve experience. A few years ago a local resident had to put his beloved dog down at the vet in Point Reyes Station.

Steve Parratt, the legendary local UPS driver and classic rock enthusiast, is set to retire soon after serving Invernness and Point Reyes Station for nearly 13 years. There is a banner next to the Bovine in Point Reyes Station you can sign if you want to thank Steve.

WMF had a nice chat with Genna Gores last night who works for Marin Transit (she has family in Inverness) and was checking that there was enough light for people to read the bus schedules at night in Point Rees Station. Good people doing good work.

Create a unique landscape

Learn about 1823 Origin of the cards

Take home a prototype card

Toby’s Feed BarnΒ
11250 Highway One, Point Reyes Station, CA 94956
12-5pm

Stop by outside Toby’s Feed Barn on February 13 for a playful, hands-on art experience. Created as part of a curatorial internship, this pop-up art exhibit invites you to build your own ever-changing Point Reyes landscape using a deck of illustrated cards.
Myrioramas gained popularity in the 19th century when people fell in love with these landscape cardsβ€”part game, part storytelling tool, part art object. Each card shares a horizon line, so you can shuffle, swap, and recombine them into endless scenes.
Come play, learn a little history, and see how a 19th-century parlor game becomes a contemporary, site-specific artwork inspired by this beautiful place.
Stop by between noon and 5pm to learn more, and maybe take home a card with art of this beautiful place!
