This is so huge to me. Taiyo is such a special character to em. So to finally have something so personal like this to hold and wear forever is a feeling like no other. This is truly a dream come true💜

Legoshi is so proud of his first Bonsai tree.
Bought it from a roadside seller that I saw when I finished my delivery route yesterday. Guy was nice and answered a lot of questions. This tree is 16 years old. It’s a Japanese Juniper and had a moss accent in the front.

His sur-name through some generations eventually changed to mine, Rodriguez.

His story and demise is crazy. The Spanish Inquisition got jurisdiction in New Spain and began hunting crypto Jews in Mexico. He was the governor of Nuevo León at the time and he and his family were put to death. He only had one surviving child that shows up in my tree.

I need to visit the Basque Country. I feel so lucky to have any percentage of ancestry from there. Some of the oldest European cultures and a language unlike others in the surrounding area.
There’s a saying that the Devil lived in Basque land but left because the language was too difficult to learn

In my family tree that I’ve built that’s focused on the Spanish lineage to Mexico I’ve definitely found some legit conquistadores. Can’t solidly confirm but I believe Luis de Carvajal is an ancestor of mine. He shows up in my tree mapped out by my other family members

I have a sense that my ancestors were mostly mariners involved in trade and exploration. Maybe some pirates too. My Sephardic Jewish ancestry is also interesting and sobering to think they covered all that land once they were driven out out Spain. Some to Africa and some to the Eatern Mediterranean.
