Worth considering how your local gov't is handling this. We no longer have FEMA to back up local emergency management failures. And if money is the problem with local planning, I suggest looking at your law enforcement budget first.

Cut Out the Wall Street Middlemen From Our Pension Funds
Pension funds are using average Americansβ retirement savings to fuel the financialization of our economy and concentration of oligarchic power in Wall Streetβs hands. It doesnβt have to be this way.
A pension is one of the last ways a working class person (usually a union member) can accumulate an even modest amount of wealthy, as do financial services also sees it as a way to transfer that wealth to the 1%. There is no reason for it to be that way.

ICE Wants to Buy Warehouses for Mass Detention. Communities Are Fighting Back.
People across the political spectrum are realizing these federal detention warehouses will harm their communities.
The overdue firing of Kristi Noem will have no bearing on the continued plans for unwanted warehousing of human beings across the country.
The spotlight should focus on these warehouses (de facto concentration camps) during Markwayne Mullin's confirmation hearing.

Great news on a historic TA on a first union contract! This contract covers roughly 500 lab workers at Labcorp!
This contract win demonstrates, once again, that through collective organization, workers can fight an anti-union, for-profit corporation & improve health care for all! ββ€οΈ

Judge expresses skepticism toward federal force at ICE building, expects to rule soon
The core issue of the case is the treatment of people demonstrating at the ICE building, which has been a rallying place for opposition to President Donald Trumpβs immigration enforcement policies.
A federal judge appears poised to continue blocking federal officers from using tear gas and chemical munitions on protesters after days of testimony that revealed a lack of legal guidance and training for the agents tasked with protecting the ICE facility in Portland.
