"We can have democracy in this country, or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can't have both." –Justice Louis Brandeis

Words spoken many years ago that are just as relevant today.

We must continue the fight to get big money out of politics.

Trump bought Boeing bonds while rewarding the company billions in federal contracts.

He bought Intel bonds after directing the government to acquire a stake in the company.

He bought Meta bonds while pushing AI-friendly policy.

Trump isn’t governing — he’s cashing in.

After 34 months of talks, New Seasons workers set strike date! 💥 Should New Seasons workers be forced to strike, we'll be there! Will you?

Bargaining sticking points are wages, healthcare, and scheduling. NSLU is calling for hourly wages to start at $20, up from the current starting rate of $16.30

Members of Congress posted a lot of angry words about the threats made against them yesterday.

We saw only Rep. Bonamici use the word 'impeach.'

Why is Congress unwilling to use their power to remedy this situation? What POTUS has done requires impeachment.

Call and demand it.

Democratic lawmakers are introducing a bill that would put new restrictions on donations to Trump's ballroom.

Right now, billionaires & corporations are dumping MILLIONS into the ballroom project.

This new bill would put a stop to what looks like a corrupt pay-to-play scheme.

Mayor Wilson’s unwillingness to listen to experts (both those who have been doing this work for years and those who are or have been unhoused), and instead insisting on charging ahead with more short-term shelters without pathways to permanent housing, is going to have a very real body count.

Reminder that in the eyes of many people, housing and homelessness are disconnected because homelessness is supposed to be an intended punishment for bad behavior.

Typical white collar move from Wilson regarding Hisserich. Fire them but technically don’t. So they resign on paper with money. But they are fired and have a PR choice.

Justice for the Fair Housing Three! The Fair Housing Three are raising the alarm because vulnerable members of our communities are being left without basic mechanisms to protect them from discrimination by landlords, real estate agents, lenders and corporate investors.

No worker deserves to be fired for speaking up. Not Starbucks baristas organizing for a fair contract, immigrant workers fighting wage theft, Amazon warehouse workers demanding safety, or federal workers protecting our civil rights. Stand with the #FairHousingThree: http://www.jwj.org/fh3

Labcorp in the Hot Seat December 11 at 6pm Portland State Smith Union (Room 327/8) hosted by Portland Jobs with Justice

Labcorp is a for-profit corporation that buys and runs hospital labs. They understaff them and underpay their employees with negative consequences for patient care. This is happening locally where Labcorp continues to rebuff efforts by the OFNHP to improve conditions.

Concerned, the Portland Jobs with Justice Workers' Rights Board invites the community to a hearing on conditions at Labcorp facilities and ways to encourage productive negotiations between the union and Labcorp representatives. The panel will hear testimony from medical experts, lab workers, patients, and union representatives.

It's hard to express what it meant to watch Maurice, Natalia, Celeste, and Rhea tell their stories—in their own voices—this morning.

The segment revealed a brutal reality: homelessness at this scale isn't about personal failure. It's the result of policy choices and systems built to exploit people.

Good news: Oregon’s revenue doesn’t look as bad as it did 3 months ago

Bad news: we're still facing a budget shortfall

Solution: Disconnect from tax cuts mainly for corporations and the wealthy that Congress enacted earlier this year, protecting the services Oregonians rely on
