I know the system is new. But I was under the impression that it was for the City Council and Mayor to make policy "commitments" and for the City Manager to carry those through. *Not* for the City Manager to decide what the City's commitments are.

ICE Out Rally Saturday, February 28th at 2:00 pm Park Blocks, East 8th Ave & Oak St. Eugene This rally is grounded in core labor principles: solidarity across the working class, defense of constitutional rights, and opposition to practices that undermine workers and community safety. Our focus is not partisan, it is pro-worker. Attacks on immigrant workers affect the entire working class. When any group's rights are stripped away through intimidation or selective enforcement, the rights of all workers are at risk. Labor believes an injury to one is an injury to all. We call on workers and community members to stand together and show that when rights are threatened, our community will stand up together. UPDATE: Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal says that "ICE used a phony missing persons bulletin for a 5 year old girl," to lie and get into a Columbia residential building and detain a student.
"It is unconfirmed at this time whether they impersonated an officer to do so," he adds.
