My paternal grandfather was a farmer in TN, until they lost the property in the depression. He eventually got a New Deal job with TN-DOT. Dad told me that many families had FDR’s picture displayed in their home.

Maternal GF was never spoken of: He was out of the picture early. Some sort of crook.

I’ve never been there, but I have friends who have traveled extensively and offer that Boston has the worst drivers by far.

Probably the language barrier.

She was deported to #Auschwitz in 1943 with her husband Max and sons Robert & Peter. Husband and Peter were registered in the camp and perished later. Lotte and Robert were murdered in the gas chamber.

This is a practice and policy that came from local policing -- police and prosecutors can lie to people (witnesses, suspects, etc) and they can pretend to be anyone they want. They can recruit informants who are coerced into cooperating.
