And i tried explaining to my class that the majority of people who cheated did it to get the same grade. They've gone from a 4 to a slightly higher 4

Why do they make it so blatant? Had a few students in their mock exams answers a pythag question correct to 1dp without any working

Also massive stroke of luck with algebra tiles being on the agenda for the @ncetm.bsky.social maths hub subject lead meeting yesterday. Couldn't have done it without that input

#MathsToday I used algebra tiles for the first time today, my department love them and i decided to embrace it being new this year. It was a great success (with bottom set year 8 last lesson too!)

My 2iC is one and its fantastic. One of the best things about being a HoD for me is being able to get involved with the Maths Hub

By the time I'd sat my gcses 3/4 years later the school had shut down so I think its ok to speculate about a questionable curriculum

Wait...maybe it had a connection to the Charlotte's Web production we went to see? Swear we watched Babe at that school too

My intermediate school whacked on Animal Farm once. No idea why, definitely wasn't studying it. Reckon someone looked at the front cover and thought "pigs...that'll do"

A few of these have cropped up in past papers my year 11s have been doing before their mocks, with the tagline "draw a suitable graph" and expect a bar chart. I feel thats a bit oxymoronic

I dont know what astounds me more in society: how low the bar is for Dads or how high the bar is for Mums

Lads and dads (or should be lad and dad) day out to the farm today. Think I need to attach a flag to the buddy that says "I am not divorced" for when I take him out solo

An old HoD of mine would refer to the lead practitioners as "noughties teachers" and this is the stuff they'd encourage you to use

'We really messed up' - does European football need more balance? One set of clubs dominate the Champions League, another win their domestic title every year but cannot compete - does European football have a problem?

Been trying to find this post because pretty much every graph in this article is a shocker

Worked with Ben last year, I have never met someone who cares so much about teaching as a craft

Equivalent fractions but then again I haven't come across a class that likes graphs so maybe it's my teaching

Nobody got above a grade 3, was not having anyone come back to me on results day saying "but you said he would pass"

I got my own back. The provider got their ofsted and I was interviewed during my nqt year where I was at an amazing school. The bully moved schools too, and ended up having a torrid time

My second placement wasn't much better. Bullied by a class teacher, when a member of the department reported it to my provider their response was "he has to learn to work with these types of people"

My first placement was taken to court by my training provider because give us any professional studies training, including safeguarding...

Maybe it is suited for students given how much its overcomplicated a simple instruction

Was listening to a thing by Ochre about curriculum and equity on my way home and apparently schools pay Twinkl £42MILLION a year.

Go to your local equestrian centre and get blinkers so they can't see one another?

Listening to an American commentate on cricket is like seeing a PE teacher in a suit on parentes evening. Like I known it's your job and you're more than qualified to do this but something still isn't quite right

I also had to put pictures of my year 11s faces on a bullseye like poster corresponding with where they were in relation to their target grade. How utterly degrading for them

It's how a lot of renaissance artists got their big break and got into the public eye as a lot of the Medicis rich friends would attend the same churches for worship and hire the same artists

The Medici who ran Florence during the renaissance were bankers, however lending people money and charging them interest was considered a sin. So to repent they would use that money to commission artists to do paintings sculptures etc for churches
