On Macho I always struggled with needing to dodge the straight punch quickly combined with a lot of his stuff being set up to punish you if you quickly react with twitch dodging to any movement. Also, by the time I was able to read which program he was using I'd already be punched in the face.

After like 50~ hours of CotW beta, this is legit what my tier list is looking like. There just isn't a bad character.

Grandia XTREME has a much bigger emphasis on dungeon crawling and combat/resource management. It also gives you your entire party up front that you can swap around, where other games have a static party. Grandia 3 is short (around 25h), so it's better if you don't feel like committing to a long game

I think the final verdict on Grandia 3 is that it's kinda bad, but the combat is great and makes up for everything else. It's a game made for people who have played the rest of the series since the boss fights are actually difficult. Even random encounters are dangerous at times.

I might stream Age of Empires 2 in April when the big patch hits. The game is warping in an odd way where they're changing and replacing so much stuff that it's basically a Theseus paradox. Civs that have been mostly the same since vanilla AOE2 are having new units added + major balance changes.

I have heard that the game takes a nosedive about halfway through, curious to see how that plays out.

At the moment I'm not feeling that hate for Grandia 3 is warranted, but I'm only like 9 hours in. It has potentially the best combat in the series with a dip in story/characters/music compared to the rest of the games. It kinda just feels like going from a 9/10 game to a 7/10 game, but still okay.

The Wild ARMs XF journey is over. It had some really cool class synergy stuff and often forced you to change up your team comp to clear certain maps. It was unfortunately padded beyond belief and went too heavy on the gimmicks. Lots of funny moments, though.
