My parents didn't let me watch Star Trek. They'd heard it was too frivolous, it Inspired Subversive Values or something. I was so surprised to learn how deep it was and the ways the cast members lived up to its vision as more than just some sci fi phenomenon too. Thanks for sharing so much about it.

Just promise you won't back down.

With or without actually singing it.

Still processing the passing of Daniel Naroditsky, 29, American chess grandmaster. He was smart and funny and I learned so much from him, whether he was commentating on PogChamps or the FIDE World Team Championships. I thought I would have many years to learn even more. RIP.

If the USC defender had held on to that crazy Ryan Browne touchdown as they should have, that'd make it 40-10 and we'd all be miserable and pessimistic. Hey let's push it to 43-10 if we count the field goal that hit the upright. USC had some what-ifs too.

I somehow had no clue y'all were on here. One less reason to go revisit Twitter!!!

No, no, it was switching sugar to aspartame or whatever!

Haha. Tangent: I remember being shocked that loud music could be, and was often, socially conscious.

1. For all his "willingness to debate," I don't have any record of him saying "I learned from someone I disagreed w/"
2. Racism etc. aside, I've seen people expect their targets to a) be grateful they didn't use profanity and at other times b) be impressed how "honest/from the gut" their cruelty is.

I'd write more, but I don't want to make this about me. It's probably cliche to say "Coping's a skill to build, like any other." If it's any relief, know I'd like to write a story/game like what you wrote, but I've put it off for my own stuff.

Sometimes I need a break after a positive review which points out something I knew was a weakness and I said "I'm willing to publish, even knowing this." I don't have answers either. But even when I write about something where I don't put myself into it, this happens.

Dang it. I should've thought to be on here to ask. I'm glad you got some testers & am glad you'll be in the author forums again.

Thanks for digging this up! BTW, For those curious to see the whole thing, it's not in the Tom Lehrer main article but in the Lobachevsky song article. (I went to Tom Lehrer's page first and couldn't find it!)

The poor exhausted congresscritters. They're probably still worn out from pushing through the Big Beautiful Bill!

I remembered thinking, they can't go much lower, can they?

They couldn't in 2004. They have the "freedom" to now.

We're just really passive-aggressive, waiting for the right chance to let it all out.

BlueSky is still young. Give it time! Have faith!

/walks away mumbling "imply WE'RE low-energy?! Why I never!"

I'd vote for cringey acronyms. Though outrageous typos or excess/lacking punctuation is probably a safe bet too!

Sometimes it's the little things that cause an outsize emotional reaction.

But if they keep us mad enough to resist meaningfully, hey, ride with it!

I remember finding this in a supermarket. The first 2 levels, easy, but they got impossible.

I'm still tempted to run a MAME cheat to get to level 100 after reading this article.

My favorite was "maybe I will wear a suit like yours. Maybe nicer."

Yeah, I don't care that it was light on policy.

Not quite right. The proper usage is "that (epithet of your choice) Vance."

I trust this mistake will be corrected on your next post :)

The banners helped so much with author rankings by KB contributed. It's cool that they are also a huge nostalgic point.

Hey, I have to admit, I was wrong about him too.

He seemed like he might be a legitimately thoughtful and strong Republican who could hold the White House 8 years.

What's really "wonderful" is when debugging a line break seems to work ... but it doesn't, because of how Inform adds line breaks in.

I've come to accept line breaks won't be perfect.
