I’ve been loving short books this year and WOW I was stunned by how much life and love and longing this book packed in with less than 200 pages. Such an interesting read, I wish I could read it for the first time again. 📚💙

I try to find ways to volunteer in my local community and I helped paint a nature education center that has been closed for 15 years! Excited to see it up and running for kiddos and adults alike soon.

I also knit this adorable little set to add some brightness and whimsy to the dark world we’re in right now. It’s not much, but it helps me. I wore it out for Valentine’s Day knit night 💕🧶

I’ve also been trying my hand at reverse engineering a popular cardigan design from big company — I loved the look but not the price. So far I’ve mapped out what I can and started up the back piece. I’m sharing my journey on my blog + TikTok + insta, so you can see more there

I’ve been knitting my Melt The ICE hat for a dear friend who lives in St. Paul. She has been giving me daily updates, and I’m continually astounded by the way Minnesotans are showing up for one another. I will be sending this off to her soon! 🧶

First and foremost, I just finished an ARC of Nothing Tastes As Good by Luke Dumas and it was AMAZING. such a good body horror/critique of society novel. It’s about Emmett who joins a trial for a weight loss drug but then starts having horrible side effects. So good! 📚💙🩸

America feeling very “free speech for me but not for thee” right now

Let’s be clear about what happened to Jimmy Kimmel Trump’s most brazen attack on free speech yet.

After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like.

And if it did get over 86, it would last two to three days tops. Not a week. Bring back 1995 Washington weather I miss it 😭

I curse this 94 degree weather!! I am sick of sweating my ass off in bed every night. There is a reason most home in western Washington don’t have AC — it was never supposed to be this hot here 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Feeling good enough to try on my sweater and likely finish the body today!! Pattern is Marble Sweater by Petite Knit using a variety of scrap yarns :) it’s the perfect scrappy sweater

I’ve been inspired by a sweater I saw at Christy Dawn (almost $500 for a COTTON sweater) and I was like, I can make that. Just trying to figure out yarn weight and needle sizes that I prefer 🧶

My ovarian endometrioma had a LITER of “fluid” (aka old blood) in it. A LITER. If you have ovaries and you feel weird pressure or pain, PLEASE get an ultrasound to rule out a big ass cyst. The pain once it twisted my ovary was unbearable. Please take care of your ovaries!

Pre and post op — the cyst and my left ovary which was completely torsioned is OUT and not cancerous !! 💕💛 now I’m at home healing, knitting, reading and watching Wednesday 🧶💀📚💕

It went perfectly and right on time!! Recovering at home now :)
