Wing is very much the idea of 90s cool in aesthetics with some great character, uniform, and mecha designs. The story is an absolute mess cause it tries to speedrun the UC timeline stories all in one show.

The payoff. "I lied." and Arnie drops him down the cliff. It'd be a great action movie bit right there, but...

...we also get a coda, when Arnie gets back to Rae Dawn and she asks what he did with Sully. "I let him go." *chef kiss* of 80s cheese.

There are some really great one-liners in 80s action movies, but it's a rare case where we get a set-up, a callback, a payoff, AND a coda.
