Seeing all the blizzard pictures from back home in Boston & Providence… y’all stay safe. And come visit Idaho. It’s a lovely 54 degrees in Pocatello right now. I’m actually regretting wearing a sweater, even if it is cute.

I will never understand how the dictionary became one of the best things on the internet. But it did.

And this tribute is perfection.

My lil puppy has a minor injury that requires him to basically move as little as possible for 3 weeks. My 10 month old, black lab puppy. The one who has never rested once in his life. Thank god for puppy sedatives.

We wanted to know if ICE is doing its job. So we talked to three Aryan Nation members at a Five Guys in Coeur d'Alene.

The Media Refuses to Call Trump’s Venezuela Attack an Act of War By framing the abduction of President NicolΓ‘s Maduro in euphemistic terms, the media is falling in line with Trump.

"Editors may tell themselves words like β€œabducted,” β€œcoup,” β€œwar,” and β€œinvasion” are too loaded, too icky, or too ideologically charged. But what’s important to understand is that any term carries particular ideological weight."

Washington Post Opinions

much as possible," the Editorial Board writes.
"It is to make sure the truly vulnerable get the
help they need without becoming dependent on
government handouts. Scrutinizing food stamp
rolls is a small step in that direction."

No. No. No.

Punitive processes make narrowly targeted programs *less* efficient and *more* costly. Because more scrutiny requires more bureaucracy.

Punitive processes also make it *less* likely that people will get aid for which they qualify. Because of the roadblocks and stigma scrutiny creates.

It’s been a while since I’ve worked on a crochet project. But I started this scarf over break and I am loving how the colors are coming out.

My nephew (age 4): Hey Uncle Ed?
Me: Yeah, what’s up?
Nephew: six seven.

And then he laughed. I don’t get it. But my nephew is the best.

I'm looking for a brief explainer on U.S. courts/the process of judicial decision-making for undergraduates. Could be a textbook chapter or other. Goal is a broad overview for a women/gender and law course. Any recommendations?

Oh also -- the fake article has two authors. The fake Kammerer and the other co-author has the same last name as one of my co-authors, but a completely wrong first name.

It could be AI (probably). Or it could just be VERY sloppy work. Either way... WTF. Don't do this.

Is this a case of a fake AI citation that made it through peer review and editing and publication? Probably. Now I have to contact the journal and report this, yeah?

Sigh.

Friends. I would know if this person existed. Kammerer is not a common last name. So, I investigate. I go to the journal, volume, issue they indicate and... The article does not exist. Tried to find it in Google Scholar in case the cite was wrong... Couldn't. I'd be surprised if the scholar exists.

14.12.2025 17:04 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Soooo... Got a notification from Google Scholar that someone cited one of my articles (Yay!). Look it up, and they got my first name wrong in the reference list -- Erin? Not even close. Then, I noticed the entry under my article is someone with the same last name doing things in my area....

Conservatives rebranded bigotry and every time the media uses β€œwokeness” as a euphemism they are helping a movement that it quite literally erasing the history marginalized people’s role in American life.

Okay. So… like. I get it. Calibri is not a good font. But… switching to Times New Roman just reflects a lack of vision.
