📢 Media Defence has intervened at the ECtHR in a landmark case challenging Georgia’s ‘Foreign Influence’ law - a measure that labels NGOs and media as serving “foreign powers” and imposes intrusive oversight, chilling independent journalism.

Gender-based Violence Against Women Journalists in East and West Africa - Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Journalists across the globe are faced with violence, harassment, criminalization, and even death for reporting on the issues facing their communities, and women in the media are especially at risk.

Women journalists are increasingly facing disproportionate and specific threats in sub-Saharan Africa, exacerbated by developments in tech.
