The fire at the Beth Israel Congregation, the same synagogue bombed by the KKK in 1967, is not an isolated incident. It’s the result of a deliberate increase in rhetoric that treats Jews as threats to be eliminated.

This Veterans Day, I’m thinking of the millions of Americans who have served in uniform — and how our government is failing them right now.

Words aren’t enough, we need actions. Fund the VA. Fund mental healthcare. And end endless wars.

Chicago isn’t a “warzone”… but the Broadview ICE facility is. That’s why it’s time to say enough is enough.
