In the past six months, 2.5% of all new vehicles in the UK 🇬🇧 were BYDs — that’s 1 in every 40 cars.

France is now included — bringing my BYD tracking to 16 European countries, covering all major markets. 🚗⚡

I fully agree that HEVs are nothing more than slightly more efficient ICE vehicles. In some of my other charts I combine ICE + HEV into a single line.

The HEV data reported by SMMT excludes mild hybrids.

I am not sure what you mean with "counting HEV on the same side as BEVs and PHEVs"?

🇺🇸⚡ Tesla had a record quarter in Q3 in the United States, selling almost 180,000 vehicles.

While its BEV market share continues to decline, Tesla’s overall market share in the U.S. (see second image) was close to a record at 4.4%.

⚡🚘 Mercedes-Benz (incl. Smart) has a BEV share of <10% — quite low for a premium brand.

Time to catch up? 👀
Both 2024 and 2025 have been relatively weak — was it the price war that Mercedes chose to stay out of?

⚡🚗 BMW Group’s BEV share is still stagnating just below 20%.
