The blessed bath water of our Lady of Cleansing laid him low
I once again stand tall in the flame of the light
Eager and willing, though cautious for what may come next
Present yourself, and we shall together judge

And the trial draws near, not with threat, but with invitation
Silk is laid upon the path, and the air is sweet
Therefore I anoint my resolve and steady the flame
The veil is fastened. The heart is kept watchful
For temptation shall be resisted by resolve
It is met by standing
Book of Trial II : Aftermath
I wrestled one larger, foul of stench, and labour.
I endured, and I prevailed.
Yet even by morning, water set aside for cleansing
has not driven the stench from my fur.
Such was the trial.
But I overcame and the light prevails.

The candle of salvation flickered beneath jeers and doubt.
The air was cold. The flame dimmed.
Yet it did not extinguish.
The welcome was cold; I did not retreat.
I remain to be tested, to show what I endure.
what I am capable of, and what I will become.
I will be seen.
