A few weird things that bring me happiness. One is the Chicago Manual of Style, with the Oxford commas, and non-spaced em dashes. The other is the beauty and simplicity of means, particularly the artithmetic and geometric means, where the first adds to divide, and the second multiplies to nth-root.

The #EU plans to remove privacy in your chat conversations and can falsely flag content as illicit. Politicans will be immune and you won't.

I've lost count of how many times they tried to pass something like this. They're trying tire us so they can beat us. If this passes, they're taking away two rights in one go: freedom of speech, and privacy. The sheep agree, safety first. 🐑

I just lost access to uBlock Origin and AutoPlayStopper on my Chrome installation. Up until now it had been possible to circumvent this, but not anymore. I was waiting for Brave to add tab group sync to the iOS app, but I might just switch before that happens. It's just freakin' annoying.

One thing AI does quite well is help express how I feel.

Deep down the purpose never really changed. I always end up where I'm meant to be, learning and sharing knowledge. Right now, I'm doing technical content creation, but making it free also makes it hard to make it sustainable. How can I make living from this? Dunno, but I owe it to myself to try.

A lot has happened since COVID, which was also the time when I finished my PhD. Besides having tried (and failed) to build a startup, I also worked as a Senior Data Scientist for 1.5y. Now, I'm mostly adrift, in a kind of limbo, where I've been rejecting corporate work, while looking for a purpose.

Here's an idea about tab groups and browsers. Just add a checkmark to bookmarks to make them dynamic and openable as a tab group. That will simplify the UI, and let us use all the bookmark features every browser already provides, to manage, export, import, and search bookmarks. cc/ @mozilla.org
