With Halloween just around the corner. I figured it would be a good time to put up some seasonal decorations in #spiritcity. I might do the same thing for the holiday season.

Zelle stood up slowly leaving the king of the fairies staring up at her in disbelief. Her hands trembled but she stood firm in his gaze.

Z: Please never harm my dog again. He's the one thing in this world I won't give up, even under your command.

O: Then learn to reprimand him. He bit me first.

Oberon reacted quickly, kicking Pluto back and moving to reprimand him when he was taken to the ground. Zelle had only heard the yelp when her wings moved her too quickly for him to see. She had him pinned, her expression cold as she uttered, "Never kick my dog your highness."

Zelle was talking with another fairy, having released Pluto from his leash, when the canine caught a scent. That smell, that being, it was the thing that came to their home and changed their lives. Oberon didn't anticipate being stalked by the usually friendly dog, before it snapped.

Despite Pluto's own enjoyment of extra time with his human, he could tell the expectations and transformation were weighing on her. Their jogs were not as fun. Her smile was more forced. She remained weary around every trail and other being. As her best companion, he truthfully wanted to protect her

Pluto helps with Zelle's tasks running throughout the grove at her command to dig things up or locate different plants. Living in the wilderness has left him constantly muddy and well exercised.

Zelle can't deny the king so she spends her days caring for a young caterpillar, befriending plants, bathing in emotional essence, and studying fairy culture. Her phone calls with Somchai are fleeting but it feels nice to hear his voice each night.

Oberon moved Zelle into a temporary cottage high up in the trees of the fairy realm. He permitted Somchai to bring Pluto to her so she wouldn't be alone but this new life away from her dream job and home wasn't ideal. She could only distract herself by taking care of her best friend.
