This might turn into a thread of the most ridiculous name translations I’m at the point where I’m not even mad, it’s so bad it’s just funny)

Ryoma has been translated both as “mama” and “Prince William”. Inui has been renamed “Zenawi” once but mostly is Inoue (at least that’s a real name…?)

Okay actually these subtitles are so bad, they must be using some program to do it. This is why you need actual people translating! It’s a skill! You can’t just plug text into Google Translate and expect you’ll get something understandable out from it

They’ve translated “so cool” as “nice big brain play” instead and I can’t 😂

Honestly these subtitles remind me of the “two languages removed game of telephone” translations on some of the bootleg DVDs that I totally didn’t buy on ebay back in the day, except that these are supposed to be legit

They’re calling Karupin “Caribbean” in the subtitles??????? Those aren’t even remotely similar!

Also, how many ways can the subtitles get “Echizen” wrong?
