In case you missed it, here's the TL;DR: The Twitch Adpocalypse doesn't affect MOST creators. It just isn't real.

And from a purely personal standpoint: If you are offered a platform and an audience, please use that to uplift, educate, and improve the lives of your audience and those around them.

Something which I as a streamer myself would lament, because the Twitch experience as a viewer has been pretty decent and as a streamer it has only become better and better over the past few years.

What will it be, Twitch?

I am aware that this will cut good creators out as well, but it is time to act. Twitch just does not have the opportunity to make a mistake here, because it might mean the end of it as a platform.

Twitch is at a crossing with only one valid exit: Either they need to allow all high risk content happening and throw away the biggest potential income source, and the longetivity of the platform OR they need to ban it all and take the cut in viewership right now and build a better platform.

If you are creating gaming content, cooking content, or are just chatting without being in a high risk space which require you to use CCLs, then nothing should change for you. In fact, you might notice that the ad revenue for you in the next few months might go up!

The fearmongering that is being done by people who actively choose to make this sort of content to scare other creators into believing the reduced advertisement on Twitch will affect them is shameful at a minimum and extremely damaging for the (already fragile) image of Twitch as a platform.

If you are making content that falls under one or more of these CCLs, then you are actively choosing to limit your advertisement revenue.

Your content is high risk and you share your space with inflammatory creators who use their platform to break down social bonds and spread hate.
