I don't think Highguard is anything special but it didn't deserve to get attacked the way it did imo since they have a solid foundation and a good idea but Geoff was hyping the game up like it was the next coming of Christ.

game is alright, I feel bad for wildlight, rant over

but the thing that made me want to talk about the game was that Geoff Keighley pretty much killed the game before it even released. the devs said they wanted to shadow drop the game, and I think if that's what happened it would've had more positive attention. Instead it just got shot down instantly

Biggest thing for me is that the devs are clearly super passionate about the game. They've been updating the game constantly and every update has been addressing major player concerns, including the player count (a week after the game came out they addressed the player count complaint and added 5v5)

I do actually really like the "raid shooter" concept and I will admit the raid sequences are pretty fun. Also I'm a big fan of the animations, all super smooth. Guns feel good to shoot, and despite the artstyle being bland Im a sucker for magic powers in games
(oh yeah the mounts are fun)

I have played about 2 hours of Highguard and played a handful of games, and I have opinions

The game itself is alright. The heroes are kinda uninteresting but that's something i don't mind too much. it's not that special, but it's still some good fun for a few hours
