I did a double take hearing Dowager Penwood speak Cantonese in Bridgerton S4.

I immediately investigated: the actress is Katie Leung who played Cho Chang in the Harry Potter movies!

Really loving all the Asian representation this season ❤️

I saw this meme earlier and some of the discourse around it, and different buckets of players and how they feel about those past things like loaded dice and zephyr and stuff like that.

I wanted to briefly say that this is actually some of the hardest conversations and parts of our job, making TFT what it is and an everchanging game. Bluevelvet and I often have a lot of discourse on where we land for different buckets of players. Where should we pull back, where are we making the game too flat, have we rounded off too many rough edges, etc.

In some cases we remove things not because they are bad or flawed, but because they've been solved and we need to open up design space for new things. If we kept everything in TFT that has been in the game, we'd have an extremely bloated game.

If we kept everything in TFT that has been in the game, we'd have an extremely bloated game.

But other times we remove stuff because it's been solved and has rough edges causing player pain. But in doing that, sometimes we round things out possibly a bit much. Artifacts for example are something we discuss a lot recently. Have we made them too dull/generic? For some players, them not being warping is a good thing. For others, not having the sharp ways to spike and break the game in unique ways leaves the game feeling more flat. It's a tough line.

I certainly won't say we've got it perfect, and frankly it's also an ever evolving situation. Players needs today are different than a year ago, three years ago, or seven years ago. But that's also what makes working on TFT so fun. Keeping up with all types of players and their needs.

I hope you know though, that no matter what side you land on here, there are folks on the team that feel the same way. For every dev on the team happy to see something like Zephyr gone, there's another on the team who laments us taking it away. And we're listening to all perspectives here and trying to find the right balance. But keep us honest and keep telling us how we're doing. It's like that loading tip says; "We make TFT better based on your feedback".

Anyway, just a thought as I was reading the discourse. Have a good rest of your day :)

From dpei_tft@x.com #TFT #S16:

Most TFT players pick augments wrong and end up bot4.

It's because they choose whatever they were told is OP rather than thinking about which TYPE of augment to take.

Hey everyone. As promised, here are the 16.6 Patch notes as is that will be on PBE after todays deploy. Reminder, this is not something we normally do, but we're trying to keep competitive folks in the loop.

This is like 95% final. There's one last day for adjustments and feedbacks, and I know the team already snuck in a couple more this morning that will show up in tomorrow's final build. Otherwise don't expect a ton of changes from here on out.

So far response from the folks playing has been positive, which has been good. Tim and I are also going to try to get the rundown video out a bit earlier if we can.

Ok, that's it for today. Have fun!

Just noting for the folks that play PBE, there will be a batch of changes today and tomorrow. I'll do an updated post tomorrow that captures both so you have the up to date list.

That does mean for today there will be differences. Hope that's ok! The team is locking it ASAP!

I participated in its funding after reading about the artwork and game concept. I sidetracked after playing chapter 1 a couple of years ago and am getting back into it after listening to this podcast episode. Great to hear that the final chapter is ready.

Hey folks. Normally we wouldn't post in progress patch notes, but I know a lot of competitive folks are looking to practice PBE this weekend to get ready for Regionals. So in order to make sure everyone has the info, I'll be posting updates to the patch notes as they progress.

Below are the notes that will be in todays PBE deploy and for the weekend, so if you practice, this is what you can expect.

PLEASE NOTE - These are not remotely final notes for 16.6. They don't contain much response to 16.5, and haven't been fully simmed or anything. It's very likely we see more changes early next week. Again, this is so people practicing know what they are practicing on.

If you have any questions or feedback after playing, please don't hesitate to hit us up. Thanks all :)

(5/6) The main trend we see among 2 costs is Aphelios, Bard, and related reroll units shooting up in the rankings, while Zaun and Demacia units fall off some more.

The 1 costs are very similar, however Caitlyn is a standout winner - mostly benefitting from the buffs to T-Hex here.
