I'm a little conflicted on this: when I travel in Finland 🇫🇮 I always take the hotel breakfast; yet when I travel abroad 🌐 I share my dollars / euros and always search the local neighbourhood for something tasty.

Food for thought! The hotel breakfast is a hot topic today. Should it be included in the room rate or should breakfast become an extra item 🤔?

Cash is not king in Finland, and if you are able, I highly recommend getting a card that you can load up with your Euros. Tap-to-pay works pretty much everywhere. Peace of mind almost guaranteed. Just be aware of strangers grabbing your attention out of nowhere.

Helsinki is a big city (well, you know what I mean), and like all big cities, you need to be aware of your surroundings.
Pickpockets especially are on the move in and around the main tourist spots. They are organised and target groups. 1/2

It used to be that Mondays in Helsinki meant no museums. Fortunately #AmosRex put that habit out to pasture by being the only museum open on Mondays (and yes, they close on Tuesday).
A favourite place, as much for the structure itself as the exhibitions.

Freshly baked Carelian rice pie - a traditional dish from Eastern Finland. A rye dough crust filled with rice porridge. The sides are folded up and crimped to make a neat little package.
