Something I struggled with for the longest time was the fear of writing things that needed to be changed/ scrapped later, but this is making me so much more comfortable with that. It sounds chaotic but somehow I finally feel like I'm working with my ADHD brain and not against it.

I used to exclusively write in order, but with my latest book I let myself write in whatever order things come to me in and connect/ fill it in later and... honestly it changed my life. It helps me have a complete picture of the whole rather than getting bogged down in details.

sorry for forever drawing random late game scenes of my characters that will take another year of writing to explain in context, it will happen again... this is how I dangle little treats for myself to motivate me to write said context.

Osprey: You must have to imagine pretty hard, then, since you don't actually eat real food. ... Did you... just call me handsome? Betony: (playing with Osprey's hair) what? you didn't know? Osprey: I just thought... all this... was about taking me away from Lilian. Betony: can't it be about more than one thing? ;)

ok... well, good talk, I guess...

yeah... and honestly the happiness has to feel narratively earned, to me? Like you need the darkness for it to actually hit and feel good, otherwise it's just... kinda boring.

I'm also very ??? about the romance Genre's requirement for a happy ending/etc. like I genuinely don't get this as a reader or a writer. All of the MOST romantic stories I can think of are challenging and riddled with conflict & tragedy, and have other things going on than just Romance

It's not easy having such a thicc and meaty tail... he has no choice but to slay while pants-less 💜

tbh sometimes you just need a character to fill a background role in a story and then you accidentally fall hard into "oh shit this guy is a whole character and I need to draw him in horny situations now." it's such a beautiful thing when that happens organically and unexpectedly...
